Valentine's Day

This Valentine's Day we were busy packing. We will be moving this week! Yay, we are so excited. With that said we didn't do much for Valentine's Day. Our oven stopped working a few weeks ago so we didn't even bake cookies.
 What we did do was buy the kids some yummy Krispy Kreme donuts! They loved the heart shaped ones. Yup, even my boys were "fighting" over who gets what, haha, Thankfully there were 6 heart shaped ones.
 I stayed away. I've had too many cheats during the holidays that my Triglycerides were up when I was tested a few weeks ago. So back to being super strict again. No giving in to these yummies!

Update on Our 8th Grade Year with Using The Thinking Tree

He's currently using: The Library Based Journal for Boys How to Make Money Timeline of World History Are You a Math Genius Word Hunt And he'll probably start United States Geography soon as well. Here is a page from his Library Based Journal. The lines on the copywork pages are too far apart for Ethan so we added some more. Ethan's Summer Learning Using The Thinking Tree (2017)

I'm challenging myself to have some summer learning fun with my kiddos for six weeks! Basically I want to make sure Ethan completes at least a few pages from two journals a day and two pages from Dyslexia Games Series C . One day it could be a few pages from his Learning Guide & Literature & Poetry . Another day from the Reading Time & Secret Diary . Eventually I'd like to have him writing in the Secret Diary daily but for now, a few pages a week will do. I'm going to do most of the reading during read aloud time and once done we both will pull out our journals (with him, either the Learning Guide or Reading Time) and have fun filling out the page or pages. It would be great if he does Math Genius daily but we'll shoot for two times a week. I want him to continue with his regular math four times a week.
