The Three Little Piggies

These three Guinea pigs belong to Brent, Annette, and Caleb.
Annette and Caleb are away visiting their Auntie R out of state.

Brent is home but guess who is taking care of the guinea pigs though? Ethan. He's been making sure they have Timothy Hay, food, water, and that they they have a clean home.
Ethan was cleaning their cage and put the guinea pigs in the laundry basket.

Ethan has done a great job too, especially since they aren't even his little gals.

How many of you are familiar with the charming -very educational books called The McGuffey Readers but are not sure how to use them to their fullest potential? I have always loved the McGuffey Readers but was never sure just how to implement them. Did you know that the McGuffey Readers can be a Language Arts course covering spelling, vocabulary, copywork, dictation, narration, written narrations, and so forth? The McGuffey's New Fourth Eclectic Reader is recommended for grades 6-7 with a reading level of 6.8 to 8.9 with some stories reading level as high as 10.1. McGuffey's New Fifth Eclectic Reader is recommended for early to middle high school or as needed. Reading level 5.8 to 10.11. I'm excited about the Creative Copywork Journal and am already making plans for Lance to use it. What makes this copywork journal unique by The Thinking Tree ? Sarah has added coloring pages to relax and calm the mind after a rigorous brain workout. Copywork may not sound like much but when your child is copying someones thoughts and ideas word-for-word the brain is really getting a great workout. You or your child can choose what is to be copied. There is space for your child to write the title of the book he is copying from, the page number and the date. There are also pages for your child to write any words that need attention and/or practice. They can put those words in their journal using the Spelling & Vocabulary pages. Being an Example ~Even When You Feel Like the Kids Don't See

I am loving my Pocket Size Journals from The Thinking Tree. This is the way I would have loved to been homeschooled. I tell the kiddos that when I'm all done homeschooling them~ I'm going to go back-to-school Thinking Tree style, hehe. I actually do use them. Right now I'm loving the these two! I can easily fit them in my purse and when waiting in line or sitting at the coffee shop I can work on a coloring page or writing.  For the Music Time box I put in some lyrics to a song I was listening to and the title went int the audio book box. Sometimes I listen to an audio book but usually it's music. With your kids you can use that for podcast too. I know my older kiddos listen to a lot of podcast on real-estate and investing. I didn't actually watch a tutorial. I did watch a video of my son who is away at ALERT International, so I wrote about that. Science was funny.
